Renewing of the mind

“Does this sound as if I am trying to win human approval? No indeed! What I want is God’s approval! Am I trying to be popular with people? If I were still trying to do so, I would not be a servant of Christ” (Galatians 1:10)

Jesus came down to Earth as a humble servant. He never said to God ‘Why should I be down here when I was seated at your right hand?’ Instead he came down and was beaten, spat at and suffered for us on that Cross. As Christians, Jesus Christ is the best example of any human, He is what we should aspire to be like. We should be living to serve God and not ourselves. Yes it may seem like living for yourself is better and much more pleasurable but a life of Hedonism and without God will not be beneficial in the long run. Be alert, be on the watch! Your enemy, the Devil, roams around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8) He will take advantage of those instances in which you want to please yourself and use it to aid his mission of destruction on Earth. However, a life with our Lord Jesus Christ and living to serve him will not give him this opportunity! I encourage you brother and sisters, whatever addiction that you feel may have its chains on you, you can break free and you will experience joy in your new life. Seek happiness in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desire. (Psalms 37:4) We serve a miracle working God and I just want to remind you that this Earth is not our permanent resting place so we should always put God first rather than the opinions of man.
